2. Focus on skills, not just qualifications Remove unnecessary job requirements and incorporate skills-based hiring to attract a wider, more diverse talent pool
3. Provide transparency for job applicants Clearly state salary details, flexible working options and role expectations in job descriptions and adverts to build trust, whilst communicating with applicants at each stage of the process
4. Remove bias from the hiring process Implement DE&I policies that help ensure individuals are hired based on skills and potential rather than personal characteristics
5. Promote equal opportunity for women and other under-represented groups Follow the latest best practice guidance for promoting equality of pay and opportunity for everyone
6. Champion wellbeing in the hiring process Embed practices that support positive mental health for both applicants and hirers, foster a respectful experience, and ensure individuals feel valued
7. Adopt a digital-first approach to hiring Leveraging technology to achieve faster, fairer and safer hiring outcomes
8. Use innovations such as AI responsibly Follow best practice guidance to ensure use of AI tools in the hiring process is done with fairness, transparency and without bias
9. Promote a safeguarding culture to deter key risks such as hiring fraud Implement safeguarding policies that address emerging digital risks, such as data breaches and online hiring fraud, to protect the public and your business reputation
10. Work with transparent recruitment partners Use partners that demonstrate high levels of compliance with relevant regulations, such as digital advertising platforms who are compliant with the Online Safety Act (being part of the JobsAware Online Recruitment Scheme)
